Earlier this month, Illinois Association of the Deaf President Corey Axelrod created a VLOG to discuss the pending repeal of the Interpreter for the Deaf LIcensure Act.
In this follow-up VLOG, Corey shares comprehensive data points leading the IAD to make the decision to request legislators to introduce legislation to extend the repeal date of the Interpreter for the Deaf Licensure Act.
Corey further emphasizes our work is not done as IAD and Illinois Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (IRID) need to collaborate to review the existing act and corresponding rules and regulations.
