In efforts to protect American Sign Language (ASL) use at the most fundamental levels, including at the Illinois School for the Deaf, the Deaf community and Illinois Association of the Deaf remain united. But the fight spans beyond protecting access to ASL and includes the need for equal communication access and protection of civil liberties.
