The Motion Light Lab of the Visual Language and Visual Learning at Gallaudet University is launching a new training program on the development of VL2 Storybook Apps. VL2 Storybook Apps are designed based on VL2 research foundations to support literacy development in young Deaf children.
Their objective is to build a team of Deaf trainers who can support and train others on bilingual storybook app creation and development. They are creating a training curriculum consisting of a hybrid between online modules and in-person training.
This training program is designed to teach deaf people how to develop their bilingual storybook apps using their customized, platform, the award-winning VL2 Storybook Creator. They will learn the essential skills required in storybook app development: storyboarding, filming, editing, working on digital assets, ASL storytelling, translating, and more. This program is a hybrid of online modules and a four-day in-person training session. It will take 6-8 months and is mostly self-paced. The fee for this program is $150.
The registration deadline is January 8, 2020. Register to apply today!
