My name is Khiana Washington and I currently attend Columbia College Chicago in the American Sign Language Interpreting program. My teacher, Anglea Malcomson, thought it might be a good idea to reach out to you and see if you could help me with my research project. I am doing a project about the importance of understanding Deaf culture before becoming an interpreter. I also am specifically focusing on understanding Deaf Black culture in order to interpret for Deaf Black people.
