IAD is very pleased to share SB220 has been signed into law by Governor Rauner!

With the passing of this bill, all applicants who apply for ISD (Illinois School for the Deaf) and ISVI (Illinois School for the Visually Impaired) teaching positions will only need to submit their applicants to ISD and ISVI directly instead of through CMS, as well. This will speed up the hiring of teachers at ISD and ISVI.

Thank you to all those who called and wrote the Governor!

IAD Still Needs Your Help

While IAD is very excited about SB220 being signed, IAD is not done yet as HB2657 needs to be signed into law.

HB2657 makes several significant changes to the School Code. This legislation will have an impact on the educators at ISD as there are changes concerning a provisional educator or career and technical educator endorsement on an educator license with stipulations, a substitute teaching license, a general administrative endorsement and a superintendent endorsement on a Professional Educator License, educator testing, educators trained in other states or countries, professional development activities.

IAD is requesting your support in getting HB2657 signed into law. You can help by contacting Governor Rauner at 217.792.0244 and requesting him to sign HB2657 into law. You do not need to give your name and/or phone number.
